Biography
Antonio Nola (1642-after 1701) was born in Naples, the son of Tomasa Nola and Laura Rossa. He entered the Conservatorio della Pieta die Turchini in 1652, where he studied with Giovanni Salvatore. He left the conservatory in June 1670, to keep his post as maestro at S.Gennaro. In 1674, he started to copy a massive collection of music for the Oratorio dei Girolamini, Raccolta di composizioni per l'esercizio della Chiesa del Filippini; few volumes survive. His last dated work is from 1701.
