1. Eia, mea anima,
Bethlehem eamus
Virtute magnanima
Puerum quaeramus.
Verbum ineffabile,
Angelis mirabile,
Cubans sine patris
Obiectum amabile,
Semper contemplabile
Datum fide matris.

2. O coeli, attendite
Infantis amorem,
Angeli, rependite
Laudem et honorem,
Verbum en dulcissimum
ens illud altissimum
Limo corporatur,
Verbum divinissimum,
Aeternum, dulcissimum,
Spretum paupertatur.

3. O te laudem milibus
Laudo, laudo, laudo,
Tantis mirabilibus
Plaudo, plaudo, plaudo.
Amanti sit gloria,
grata et memoria
Domino in altis
cui testimonia
dantur et praeconia
coelicis a psaltis.

1. O, my soul calls me now,
Beth'lem our object be!
Courage and virtue show,
Seeking this fair baby.
Above speech uttermost,
Marv'lous to angel host,
Here now he's hidden.
Him may we love the most,
He our souls e'er engross,
To Maid's faith given.

2. Heavens, attend ye how
Loves us this tiny child;
Angels, responding, bow,
Spread his praise far and wide,
Sweetest Word - my voice cries -
O'er all most highest rise,
Earth disdain not!
Word, still Divinest, lies,
Sweetest to all our eyes,
Born here with naught.

3. Praises ten thousand I
Praise, praise, praise, praise!
Marvels so crowning I
Raise, raise, raise, raise!
Glory to God above;
Thanks for this greatest love.
In the height ring
Witness you're worthy of!
Angels it now behoves
Heaven's praise to sing.
Translation by Philip Krinks

1. Now my soul to Bethlehem,
Let our willing way be;
See the shepherds, follow them,
Seek the new-born Baby.
Word that only God can say,
Sunlight of the angel's day,
Father's bosom leaving,
Love is He of all that is,
Hope of all undying eyes
Giv'n to Maid believing.

3. Fervent praise would I to Thee
Evermore be raising;
For Thy wondrous love to me
Thee be ever praising.
Glory, glory be forever
Unto that most bounteous Giver,
And that loving Lord!
Better witness to Thy worth,
Purer praise than ours on earth,
Angels' songs afford.
