Io son ferito hai lasso e chi mi diede,

e pur d'andarci Amor mi face ardito,

English.png English translation

I am hurt, alas, but can not tell who hurt me,
Asking for help doesn't help me,
Fain would I accuse but I have no proof
Without indicating the disease, who can have hope of healing
My plague anew sheds blood
But then I can not stand to prove it

I pass and die, though the blow is unseen
And every hour my malady is renewed
but My armed enemy can not be found

Let her return, to him from whom she cruelly parted
or to go there, Love, make me bold enough
Only the one can heal me who did hurt me.
