1. My Jesus, look on me thy child,
Who am both weak and faint ;
Sinners are thine, then take thy own,
And make a wretch a saint.
2. Cleanse me and wash me in thy blood,
Then only thine I'll be;
Create me thine, and I will have
No other Lord but thee.
3. Take my poor heart just as it is,
Set up therein thy throne ;
So shall I love thee above all
And live to thee alone.

4. Remember, Lord, when thou didst hang
And die upon the tree,
For whom were all thy wounds and pains,
But for the world and me?
5. There thou did purchase life for all,
For all poor Adam's race,
That all who tasted of his death
Might likewise taste thy grace!
6. Thanks to thee, dearest lamb, that thou
Hast wakened me from death,
And roused me but of sin's deep sleep,
And called to walk in faith.

7. Complete thy work, and crown thy grace,
That I may faithful prove,
And listen to that small still voice,
Which only whispers Love.
8. Which teaches me what is thy will,
Which tells me what to do,
Which covers me with shame, when I
Do not thy will pursue.
9. This unction may I ever feel,
This teaching from my Lord,
And learn obedience to thy voice,
Thy soft reviving word.
