wach auf, erwäg mit Lust und Freud,
was Gott an uns gewendet,
sein' lieben Sohn
vom Himmelsthron
ins Jammertal er sendet.
O Jesu, unser Heil und Licht,
halt über uns dein Angesicht
mit deinen Strahlen walte
und mein Gemüt
durch deine Güt
bei deinem Licht erhalte.
Dein Glanz all Finsternis verzehrt,
die trübe Nacht in Licht verkehr
leit uns auf deinen Wegen,
