Born: 31 January 1964

Biography

Paolo Pandolfo is an Italian composer. He completed his studies in Padova (Italy), obtaining diplomas in Composition at "Cesare Pollini" Conservatory of Music under the guidance of master Wolfango Dalla Vecchia. Paolo began piano studies with Lina Braghetta Piozzi (student of Francesco Malipiero and Oreste Ravanello) and organ with Mario Voltolina (organist of S. Antony Cathedral in Padua). He studied Elettronic Music in Padova Conservatory of Music. In 2017 he has been the winner of the Xth edition of the 10th Anima Mundi International Competition of Sacred Music Composition announced by the Opera della Primaziale Pisana and the Anima Mundi Festival of Sacred Music. The committee composed of John Eliot Gardiner (Jury President), Mgr. Marco Frisina, Mgr. Aldo Armani, Maestro Antonio Greco and Maestro Guido Corti unanimously recognized the composition of M° Pandolfo (AVE MARIS STELLA) as the best of those that came this year. In 2017 his Oratory "La Croce di Giulia" won the National Composition Competition of Livorno (3rd national composition competition, Santa Giulia 2017). In 2014 have been unanimously proclaimed winner of the prestigious “Anima Mundi” International Sacred Music Competition, promoted by the “Opera della Primaziale” in Pisa to celebrate the 950th anniversary of the foundation. The “Te Deum Laudamus” for soli, chorus and organ, had the official compliments of the jury panel which was adorned by the names of: Sir John Eliot Gardiner (President), M° Guido Corti, M° Mons. Marco Frisina, Mons. Aldo Armani, M° Antonio Greco. The "Te Deum Laudamus" was performed in the Pisa Cathedral Sept. 23th, 2014 and Oct. 05, 2014 in Cremona. In 2011 his composition "La via dei carri" won the National Composition Competition in honor of MS Bertilla Boscardin. With his KYRIE he won the 3rd prize of International competition of sacred music composition "Papa Benedetto XVI" (Rome - 2017), He has obtained a law degree at the ancient University of Bologna.
