Merge discussion

  • Merge It seems pointless to have 2 pages for the same text. --Bobnotts talk 14:21, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Merge Agree. The score pages themselves would still remain under Sicut Cervus or the other titles, so they can still be found by that. The text/translation would point people to the psalm page in case someone doesn't realize that more info can be found under Psalm 42. -- Vaarky 20:12, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Merge Agree, but the text references on works pages containing this text will have to be changed. -- Chucktalk Giffen 13:21, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Vaarky and Chuck, I'd suggest we keep this page as a redirect to the Psalm page, so that people who LinkText to this page will be correctly redirected to the psalm. Likewise, redirects could also be allowed for other well known psalm texts, whose name unambiguously refer to a single psalm page (not Cantate Domino, for instance, because it may refer to more than one psalm). —Carlos Email.gif 18:08, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Excellent suggestion, Carlos. I was thinking the same thing afterwards! And there are certainly other situations where redirects such as this make very good sense. While we don't want to become excessively redirected like Wikipedia, we can certainly make use of sensible redirects. :)
