This template is for use in literal reproduction of the code for &-characters in text. Thus, typing

{{etc|aacute;}} or {{etc}}aacute;   reproduces   á

while typing

á   reproduces   á

There is a separate Template:nbsp for reproducing the oft used   in text. Thus, typing

ABC{{nbsp}}XYZ reproduces ABC XYZ

while typing

ABC XYZ reproduces ABC XYZ

Note: There are places where the use of a template is not desirable or it wont work properly; in this case, use the standard HTML notation instead:

á   reproduces   á

ABC XYZ reproduces ABC XYZ
