Thus grows the seed, as the kingdom of God.
I heard the Lord did say tis how;
As if a man, all at the planting did sow,
All on the land both rich and poor.

The man he slept and then he rose.
The night and day did traverse so;
And the seed did sprout and it did grow.
The man watched it grow, but he knew not how.
For all he looked, he knew not how.
Of its own accord, the land yields fruit.
First comes the blade from a tender shoot;

And the man’s amazed that it did grow.
