Vox in Rama audita est,
ploratus et ululatus multus.
Rachel plorans filios suos,
noluit consolari, quia non sunt.
(Clemens has the same text less the word 'multus')
English translation
A voice is heard in Ramah
of weeping and great lamentation.
Rachel is weeping for her children,
and will not be comforted because they are no more.

Auf dem Gebirge hat man ein Geschrei gehöret, viel Klagens, Weinens und Heulens,
Rahel beweinete ihre Kinder und wollt sich nicht trösten lassen, denn es war aus mit ihnen.

In Rama werd een stem gehoord,
vol droefheid en groot weegeklaag.
Rachel die haar zonen beweent,
