Biography: In addition to being a composer of his own books of tablature for guitar and lute, Adrian Le Roy was a partner in the Parisian publishing house of Le Roy & Ballard, which published many books of music starting in 1551. Le Roy published in partnership with his cousin, Robert Ballard, until Ballard's death in 1588. He published three books on his own in 1591, then in partnership with Ballard's widow, Lucrèce Dugué, until his death in 1598. After this, Dugué carried on the business in partnership with her son, Pierre Ballard.
