English text
As the lovely maiden cradled her dear Child,
She rocked Him gently, crooning with voice mild.
‘Li li li, my darling, dearest Child of mine,
li li li, my dearest, lovely, lovely Child.’
All the words that maiden sang to Him,
Came from a heart so joyful, free from sin,
‘Li li li, my Kingling, greatest Kingling mine,
li li li, my Kingling, greatest heav’nly King’.
Then the host of angels, gathered all above,
Sang with the maiden their own song of love:
‘Li li li, earth’s flower, loveliest flow’r of all,
li li li, earth’s flow’r, O holiest Child of all.’
