The feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary falls on December 8. The celebration was introduced to the Latin church in 1477, suppressed by the Council of Trent and reinstated in 1708. The pre-1970 propers are identical to those of Nativity of the BVM.
