CPDL #26067:  Icon_pdf.gif Icon_snd.gif Sibelius 6
Editor: Lewis Jones (submitted 2012-04-30).   Score information: A4, 6 pages, 63 kB   Copyright: Personal
Edition notes: Edited from facsimile of the 1587 Gardano print. Alla quarta bassa in accordance with chiavette. The original natural marking in bar 30 of the Quintus part is odd, and could possibly be explained by a desire to not linger on a chord of B major (unpleasant in most meantone temperaments), though this chord is used elsewhere in the motet with little compunction. The use of a natural, though marked, is possibly a mistake, as using a minor chord here rather than a major one is very out of style and generally unconvincing.

Ego dixi, Domine, miserere mei:
sana animam meam, quoniam peccavi tibi:
convertere Domine usquequo
et deprecabilis esto super servos tuos,
fiat misericordia tua, Domine, super nos
quemadmodum speravimus in te.
