Ego facinus admisi, tu ultione plecteris;
Ego superbivi, tu humiliaris;
Ego tumui, tu attenuaris;
Ego praesumpsi vetitum,
tu mortis subiisti aculeum;
Ego pomi dulcedinem,
tu fellis gustasti amaritudinem.

jij werd met foltering gestraft;
ik heb me schuldig gemaakt aan een misdaad,
jij werd uit wraak gestraft.
Ik was trots,
