Background

Galician chant (Ukrainian: галицький розспів) is a singing tradition used in the Greek-Catholic and Orthodox Church mainly in Western Ukraine (note that the term "Galician" here refers to the Ukrainian region "Halychyna", not to the Spanish "Galicia").
