===What is the "Choral Public Domain Library" anyway?===
==How do I download scores?==
The Choral Public Domain Library (CPDL) is an internet-based free sheet music website which specializes in choral music. Begun in December 1998, it is one of the largest free sheet music sites, with over 5,000 scores listed in the CPDL database. Over 200 volunteers have contributed music scores, and over 40 affiliated free sheet music websites are catalogued. Most of the scores are in the public domain, but some scores are newly composed. The website is managed by Rafael Ornes (ornes@cpdl.org).

===How do I download a score?===
Because of the large number of scores, the best way to find scores is by using the Search engines on the CPDL site. The easiest way to begin is to use the Composer/Title Quick Search which is on the left menu.

===Is it really free?===
Yes, it is really free.

===Can I make copies for my choir?===
Yes, in most cases there is no restriction on distributing, duplicating, or performing scores from CPDL. In a few cases there may be a specific request that you contact the composer if you are performing their work. Also, pieces on other affiliated websites may have further restrictions on use. See the affiliated website for their individual copyright statement.

===How do you make any money with this?===
Donations (hint, hint ;). Actually, CPDL is a not-for-profit project and all work is done by volunteers. There are some costs to running the site and donations are accepted. Also, I am looking for people who would be willing to help out with website development and server space.
