In illo tempore egressus Jesus
secessit in partes Tyri et Sidonis,
et ecce mulier Chananaea a finibus illis
egressa clamavit dicens ei:
Miserere mei Domine, fili David.
Filia mea male a daemonio vexatur.
Qui non respondit ei verbum.
Et accedentes discipuli ejus rogabant eum dicentes:
Dimitte eam quia clamat post nos.
Ipse autem respondens ait: Non sum missus
nisi ad oves quae perierunt domus Israel.

English.png English translation

In that time Jesus withdrew
to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
A Canaanite woman from that vicinity
came to him, crying out:
Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me!
My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.
He did not answer a word.
So his disciples came to him and urged him:
Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.
He answered: I was sent
only to the lost sheep of Israel.

Hungarian.png Hungarian translation

Abban az időben Jézus elment onnan:
visszavonult Tírusz és Szidon vidékére.
És íme, egy kánaáni asszony,
aki arról a vidékről jött, így kiáltott hozzá:
Könyörülj rajtam, Uram, Dávid fia!
A lányomat kegyetlenül gyötri egy démon.
Ő azonban egy szóval sem válaszolt neki.
A tanítványai odamentek hozzá és kérték:
Küldd el őt, mert csak kiabál utánunk.
Ekkor így szólt: Nem küldtek máshová,
csak Izrael házának elveszett juhaihoz.
