Joseph C. Lowry is the composer (or arranger) of the psalm-tune Pisgah, first published in The Kentucky Harmony, 1817. He "contributed nine tunes to Kentucky Harmony [and its supplement] ... He probably lived in Kentucky, since two additional tunes are credited to him in Columbian Harmony (1829) by Kentucky residents" (Steel and Hulan 2010).
