General Information

Title: Missa cum quatuor vocibus
Composer: Pierre Colin

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: STTB
Genre: SacredMass

Language: Latin
Instruments: A cappella

First published:
Description: From the Música Colonial Archive. A four part mass. Attributed in the late 17th/early 18th Century source to "Petrus Colineus". There may have been a setting of the Benedictus, which was not included in the source, because by that time in Spain and Latin America the Benedictus was usually sung to a simple 3 part setting. Robert Stevenson's Catalogue of the Música Colonial Archive states: "According to a kind reply from A. Hyatt King dated July 28, 1969, none of the Masses in British Museum K.2.i.30 concords with the present Mass".
