Ach, wie elend ist unser Zeit
allhier auf dieser Erde,
gar bald der Mensch darniederleit,
wir müssen alle sterben,
allhier in diesem Jammertal,
auch wenn dir's wohl gelinget.
French translation
Ici-bas, que notre temps
sur la terre est misérable,
car l’homme n’est que néant.
