  • (Posted 2018-01-21)  CPDL #48513:
Editor: Mick_Swithinbank (submitted 2018-01-21).   Score information: A4, 5 pages, 43 kB   Copyright: CPDL
Edition notes: Original pitch and note values. Three of the four voices are editorial, so this is partly a new composition, albeit in a style intended to resemble Layolle's, or at least similar repertoire of the same period.

Description: This is a motet from a collection probably published in Lyon in 1525 and which was devoted entirely to motets by Layolle, a resident of the city at the time. Unfortunately, only the tenor partbook has survived, which contains the information that O bone Jesu was scored for four voices.
