He is assumed to be the Pedro do Porto who was ''mestre da capela'' to Cardinal Dom Affonso from 1521. By 1535 he was living in precarious circumstances in Évora. Biography Escobar sang in the chapel of Isabelle I 1489-1499 (where he composed the Sanctus & Agnus for Juan de Anchieta's lady mass and a Kyrie for a collaboration with Peñalosa), returning to his native Portugal before becoming master of the choirboys at Seville 1507-1514. He is assumed to be the Pedro do Porto who was mestre da capela to Cardinal Dom Affonso from 1521. By 1535 he was living in precarious circumstances in Évora. He left 2 masses of his own and about a score each of motets and villacicos.
