'''Biography''' Escobar sang in the chapel of Isabelle I 1489-1499 (where he composed the Sanctus & Agnus for [[Juan de Anchieta]]'s lady mass and a Kyrie for a collaboration with [[Peñalosa]]), returning to his native Portugal before becoming master of the choirboys at Seville 1507-1514. He is assumed to be the Pedro do Porto who was ''mestre da capela'' to Cardinal Dom Affonso from 1521. By 1535 he was living in precarious circumstances in Évora. He left 2 masses of his own and about a score each of motets and villacicos.
