Biography
German composer and music theorist. He worked at the Royal School Teachers' Seminary in Boppard from 1868 until his death. His works include 41 masses and other functional music for simple church music conditions, committed to the ideals of the Cecilian Movement. He is one of the most important reformers of church music in 19th-century Germany.
