PYTHAGORAS WAS A VERY CLEVER MAN
Pythagoras was a very clever man,
(a very very very very very clever man.)
He spent a lot of time drawing lines in the sand.
(Or so the hist’ry books tell us.)
He loved to add up loads of numbers in his head; (in his
head)
Or do some algebra or geometry instead.(instead)
Now it was Thursday after lunch - in the heat of the day,
(Heat of, heat of, heat of, heat of, heat of the day.)
And Pythagoras was scratching away at the clay,
(Or so the hist’ry books tell us.)
When a switch turned a light on in his head. (in his head)
Yes a switch turned a light on in his head!
He stood up straight, and cleared his throat,
And this is what he said:
The square,
The square on the
Hypotenuse of a
Right-angled
Triangle
Is
Equal to, is
Equal to - the
Sum of the squares -
On the other two
Sides.
Fa la la la,
Fa la la la,
Fa la la la! Hey! Nonny no!
Is
Equal to the
Sum of the squares
On the other two
Sides.
