Latin text
Surge, propera, amica mea, et veni.
Iam hiems transiit; imber abiit et recessit.
Flores apparuerunt in terra nostra.
Tempus putationis advenit.
Surge, propera, speciosa mea, et veni,
formosa mea, columba mea,
in foraminibus petrae, in caverna maceriae,
ostende mihi faciem tuam.
Sonet vox tua in auribus meis,
vox enim tua dulcis et facies tua decora.
English translation
Arise, make haste, my love
Arise, make haste, my love, and come.
For the winter is passed,
the rains are over and gone.
Flowers have appeared in our land.
The time of pruning is nigh.
Arise, make haste, my precious, and come,
my beautiful one, my dove,
in the clefts of the rock,
in hollow places of the wall,
show me your face.
Let your voice sound in my ears,
for your voice is sweet,
and your face comely.
