28b  Ave [Maria], gratia plena, Dominus tecum;
29b  Quae est ista salutatio,
30b  Ne timeas Maria, invenisti [enim] gratiam apud Deum,
31a  Ecce concipies [in utero] et paries Filium Dei.
34b  Quomodo fiet istud? Quoniam virum non conosco,
35b  Spiritus sanctus superveniet in te, et virtus Altissimi obumbrabit tibi.
38b  Ecce ancilla Domini: fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.
32b  Dabit illi Dominus Deus sedem David patris eius et regnabit in Domo Iacob in aeternum.
33  et regni eius non erit finis.
Alleluia.

English.png English translation

28b  Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee.
29b  What manner of salutation is this?
30b  Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31a  And, behold, thou shalt conceive [in thy womb], and bring forth the Son of God.
34b  How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35b  The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee.
38b  Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.
32b  and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
