First Line: Jesus Christ, the Lord's anointed
Composer: Alexander Gillet
Lyricist: John Newton

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SATB

Genre: Sacred   Meter: 87. 87. 47 (actually 87. 87. 11.)

Language: English
Instruments: A cappella

First published: 1792 in Andrew Law's The Rudiments of Music, Edition 4

Description: This is very similar to the Gillet arrangement called Berkley in 1794; but the Treble in 1794 has been switched with Tenor, the meter changed from 87.87.11. to 88.88.88., and the words changed. The Hymn Tune Index considers them different tunes.
