English text 1  Hear those soothing sounds ascending From the winding path below, And each with each in sweetness blending, As the breezes lightly blow. Jubilate, Amen. See the vesper choir is wending To the church, and chanting low; Hark, hark! Jubilate, Amen. 2  Bear, ye breezes lightly blowing, Sounds of peace through all the land; Be thoughts of love on them bestowing, Who in rapt attention stand. Jubilate, Amen. May each heart new rest be knowing, Sent by heaven's divine command. Hark, hark! Jubilate, Amen.

German text 1. Hört vom Strand ein Vespersingen, heil’gen Klang im Hafen wehn! O hört es nah’ und näher dringen, wie die schwanken Lüftchen gehen! Jubilate, jubilate, Amen! Jetzo will es gar verklingen; still, es stirbt, es will vergehn! Still! Still! Jubilate, jubilate, Amen! 2. Kaum erloschen, wie die Wellen, am Gestad in Mondes Licht, o hört es wachsen, hört es schwellen, wie sich Flut und Ebbe bricht! Jubilate, jubilate, Amen! Gleich der Woge wird’s zerschellen; still, nur still, sonst hört ihr’s nicht! Still! Still! Jubilate, jubilate, Amen!
