== Add New Work form – Instruments ==

Hi Carlos,
Hi Carlos, A few minutes ago I used the Add New Work form to create [[Sharon (James P. Carrell)]]. Since it is an ''a cappella'' work, I entered that in the Instruments blank. But when I got to the page, there was an error message across the top, about a missing ) in a Multireplace.php program. The page was created correctly, except Instruments was blank. I tried inserting ''A cappella'' in the Instruments template, but it didn't work, I got the same message. I managed to get around it by typing <tt><noWiki>'''Instruments:'''{{Acap}}</noWiki></tt>, which gave the same result, it appears (the page was added to Category:A cappella). By the way, I looked at Template:Instruments and noticed that it was editable by me; it should be protected, right? (I did not edit it). Anyway, I thought you should know that this happened. Best to you — [[User:Bcjohnston523|Barry Johnston]] [[User talk:Bcjohnston523|(talk)]] 04:52, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

:Hi Barry, thanks for informing me of this. The problem with [[template: Instruments]] seems to be gone, it was just a test by Richard Mix that didn't work out as expected. Regards, —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]] [[User talk:Carlos|(talk)]] 17:50, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
I noticed you created [[tenebrae]] (a long needed article!) shortly after I created [[:Category:Tenebrae music]] as a parent category for T. responsories & Lamentations.  Would you mind if I made yours into a redirect?

All the best, [[User:Richard Mix|Richard Mix]] 20:32, 14 May 2012 (CDT)

:Hi Richard, the reason why I decided to create this new page is because the text on the Category:Tenebrae responsories was becoming too large. As a general wiki rule, we should try to keep category pages as concise as possible, since their main purpose it to be easily navigatable. See for example the pairs [[Mass]] & [[:Category:Masses]], [[Requiem]] & [[:Category:Requiems]]. I hope it's fine with you. Best regards, —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]]&nbsp;[{{fullurl:User talk:Carlos}} {{mail}}] 22:18, 14 May 2012 (CDT)

::In principle there's no reason to disagree about avoiding clutter, but as a practical matter [[:Category:Tenebrae music]] probably will never have more than the two subcategories.  But let me ask a technical question instead: how could one list the categorized pages at the top or the middle instead of the bottom?    For my own taste, [[:Category:Tenebrae responsories]] would be much better if one could see the available responsory titles right below a succinct introduction (as at present) , but then be able to look below at a table showing how they fit in without navigating to another page.    Another solution might be to list titles in order of services instead of alphabetically, or (more work!) have a hand-maintained list of blue links to text pages...   [[User:Richard Mix|Richard Mix]] 00:10, 16 May 2012 (CDT)

The short answer for your technical question is no, it's not possible to change the layout of categories; but on the other way around, one can dynamically emulate a category inside regular pages using DPL, as in the examples below:
;As a list
<pre><dpl>
category=Tenebrae responsories
columns=2
rowcolformat=width=100%
</dpl></pre>
;As a category
<pre><dpl>
category=Tenebrae responsories
mode=category
</dpl></pre>
In both examples, the only sorting option available is alphabetically, so if you plan to list titles in order of services, that would have to be done by hand (and updated periodically). —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]]&nbsp;[{{fullurl:User talk:Carlos}} {{mail}}] 12:45, 16 May 2012 (CDT)

Carlos, I added a version of this today and, while it appears on the works page, it's not being picked up on the main page. The other version there had a broken link. Is that why the system is not picking it up?

== Miserere mei Domine (Victoria) ==

Carlos, this page contains versions of two different word settings by Victoria. Three of them are of Miserere mei Domine (Psalm 6:2 and Jeremiah 17:14) and 8234 is of Miserere mei Deus (Psalm 51) I've corrected the text and changed the page to Miserere mei Domine, but splitting out the Psalm 51 version onto a separate page is beyond my level of competence!

:Hi James, good catch! These two works had originally different pages but ended up mixed after an uninformed merger in November 2005. I undeleted the original page for [[Miserere mei Deus (Tomás Luis de Victoria)|Miserere mei Deus]] in order to preserve the page history, which would be lost if we created a new page after the split.  Regards, —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]]&nbsp;[{{fullurl:User talk:Carlos}} {{mail}}] 14:32, 26 June 2012 (CDT)

==Bassano==
Hi Carlos: After a long period of neglect, someone reminded me that my edition of the Monteverdi Magnificat Secondo is missing a verse. Its CPDL number is 26082.
I have tried today to upload a complete version--but each time I've tried, the result is still incomplete--on CPDL, that is, but not on my computer.
The initial correct upload is

Carlos, RE the Bassano - thanks for tidying it up (though you might want to take a look at the Andrea Gabrieli page from which I copied the format, it depends on what you think as to whether publications and collections should be split up). As to the number of parts, it's so typical for Venetian music to list it that I'm keeping it in - see the Gabrieli pages for examples! I feel it makes the music easier to navigate, and in any case the pieces are always listed in Venetian publications by part numbers. For modern precedence, take a look at any Gabrieli Consort recording of the Venetian repertoire: every single title has a part number, ie Buccinate a19, Suscipe a12 etc. [[User:Lewis Jones|Lewis]] 00:17, 1 July 2012 (CDT)

== Bug in template PostedOn ==

Ah. Had I added a comma when I moved the Works page? If so, that explains it.
Hi Carlos. I think your 'localizing' the month changes to PostedOn have resulted in an error. Today (October 26th), PostedOn lists my score [[A Hymn for St Cecilia (Charles H. Giffen)]], but the score was posted on September 26th, not October 26th.  The problem is that I also posted editions for the instrumental parts on October 1st, and that seems to have fooled the template PostedOn, which looks at the posting day (26) for one edition and the month (10) for another edition and decides that a score was posted on 10-26.  I only noticed this because today my work is listed at the beginning of the works posted for today (2018-10-26), since it is first alphabetically.  Here is the result of <nowiki>{{PostedOn|2018-10-26}}</nowiki> (which will probably only be valid for today (or perhaps until the end of the month?).

:Hi Chuck. You're right, the template tests for the day and the month separately, as far as I can remember. That could potentially give the results you cite, in that very specific situation. This is a puzzle, Carlos. The Capella file is correct, but the PDF file appears to be the original version when I check it. I've tried deleting all versions of the pdf and reloading it (which appears to have no problem at my end) but I'm still seeing the original file on CPDL when I open it. I'll leave it for a bit and see if the problem has resolved itself.
Dear Carlos,
[[User:Jamesgibb|Jamesgibb]] 02:16, 11 July 2012 (CDT)

Problem seems to be solved now, at least as far as I can see, Carlos. Could you check too, just to be sure? Thanks.
I was wondering if it were possible for me to see some statistics (downloads etc) of my contributions? I get the occasional question from a user who took the effort to find my contact, but that doesn't give much information.

== [[Service for the Feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul (Alexander Ledkovsky)|Alexander Ledkovsky scores]] ==
Grateful for your advice.
Hi Carlos, the score for Peter & Paul mentions Alexander Ledkovsky as <i>sostavitel'</i> or compiler, rather than composer. I've sung quite a number of his scores, and he tends to mention composers if there are any, including himself.  Most of the anonymous settings are taken from the synodal Obihod - unless you have reason to believe this is a different case, of course.  On a different note: a number of Ledkovsky's scores are services (actually compilations for vespers, matins and liturgy of the feast) - is there a cat for that? Cordially [[User:Jkelecom|joachim]] 08:04, 27 July 2012 (CDT)

:Hi Joachim. I'm really not sure yet how to categorize these two works (''Service'' & ''Hirmosi'') with respect to the composer. I also understood from the ''составитель'' in the score that he was the editor, but since he cites no other names and was a composer himself, I suspected that either 1) he composed it himself, or 2) he harmonized a traditional Orthodox chant. In both cases it would be acceptable to use his name in the title, although for the latter it was also possible to use ''(Orthodox chant)'' (or ''([[Znamenny chant]])'', maybe?) as "composer". But it's just a guess, and the composer may be also ''(Anonymous)''. Any hints are appreciated! The anonymous settings from the synodal Obihod that you cite, are they harmonized or just plainchants?

::Hi Carlos.  The Obihod usually has 4-part settings - I see no reason to consider Ledkovsky the composer of the anonymous works, even more so since most of them are just traditional settings of the tones.  I should think his editions are best left as "Anonymous" unless explicitly mentioned otherwise.  I'm not sure all the Obihod melodies are znamenny, but since chant is sort of unison by default, I don't think Ledkovsky's settings should be labelled as such.  Regards, [[User:Jkelecom|Jkelecom]] ([[User talk:Jkelecom|talk]]) 14:55, 4 August 2012 (CDT)

== Gloria a 16 editions by Sabine Cassola and Bruno Schiffel ==
Hi Carlos,

Hi Carlos, following your message on my talk page: there is a small logical difference between CPDL #23696 and #24508. CPDL #23696 was submitted as an individual work, while #24508 was submitted as an element of the collection [[Concerti_1587_(Andrea_and_Giovanni_Gabrieli)]]. When the collection was submitted, I created the collection page [[Concerti_1587_(Andrea_and_Giovanni_Gabrieli)]], and I also extracted each item from the collection and created individual work pages for each item (or added a new edition to an existing work page, when applicable). In this specific case, I noticed the presence of a similar edition, however I was not sure 100% that the new edition was identical to the old one. To ensure consistency between this specific individual movement and the whole collection, I preferred to add the new item as an additional edition on the same work page. There is no problem for me if you want to remove #24508, however this may introduce an inconsistency with the collection if the two editions (#23696 and the one inside the collection) are not really identical. Thanks for catching Category:Requests Available at IMSLP! To answer [http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Request:Christmas_Oratorio_(Camille_Saint-Saëns)&curid=19695&diff=1248477&oldid=1248437 this question], The Oratorio is available only in excerpts on CPDL, but complete at IMSLP. [[User:Richard Mix|Richard Mix]] ([[User talk:Richard Mix|talk]]) 01:09, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
:Hi Richard! I noticed that you've been doing a great work in sorting out the requests, way to go! Regarding the ''completeness'' of a request, I'm of the opinion that it's 'complete' whenever a page for that work is created on CPDL. If for any reason the editions available here do not cover the whole of the request and IMSLP has a complete edition, that could be informed at the works page, with a link under the "External links" section. This way we'll be helping anyone visiting the works page, not just someone eventually consulting the request page. Regards, —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]] [[User talk:Carlos|(talk)]] 01:24, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
::Fair enough as a traffic directing strategy; how would one have dealt with [[Request:Agnus Dei from Missa L'homme armé (Guillaume Dufay)]]? :::Does IMSLP have the complete work? If so, a link to it could be added at the works page. Additionally, a note can be added at the request page informing this. Carlos
Hi Carlos!  I am working though a lot of work pages, and along the way trying to update  <tt><nowiki>'''External websites:''' <text></nowiki></tt>  to  {{tl|ExtWeb|<text>}}. I find that I am unable to embed certain urls within the braces; neither can I embed thinks like <tt><nowiki>{{IMSLP2|<IMSPL page>}}</nowiki></tt>. I can't seem to find a character that would cause a problem, but I haven't yet checked all strings of characters. I have discovered that I can put the url within <u>double</u> brackets (<nowiki>[[<url>]]</nowiki>) as a workaround, but that seems like a lot of work, and looks strange. Examples at [[Ach Gott, wem soll ichs klagen (Wolfgang Grefinger)]] and [[Ala guerra, ala guerra (Bartolomeo Tromboncino)]]. Do you have any suggestions?

An anonymous person with the user name of Rote has suggested some changes to one of my works. I have tried to communicate with him on his user page but it generates a question for me to answer which I have not been able to work out, so I cannot communicate with him/her. Can you help?
Or maybe I should write code for Template:{{tl|ExtWeb}} to take care of this situation? Thanks! — [[User:BarryJ|Barry Johnston]] [[User talk:BarryJ|(talk)]] 17:26, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

:Hi Barry! I'm still trying to figure out what's the advantage of using this new template. As I understood it, it just encapsulates the text that is passed as parameter (in this case, one or more links). But why should we abandon a template such as IMSLP2, for instance, in favor of ExtWeb, as was done [https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Ach_Gott,_wem_soll_ichs_klagen_(Wolfgang_Grefinger)&diff=1340040&oldid=1268264 here]? Sorry for asking, maybe you're planning some kind of automation that I'm not aware of, and this is just the first step of the process.
:Regarding the technical problem you cite, the solution is simple, although not very elegant: if a parameter contains an equal sign, it causes the MediaWiki to think that everything before the = is a named parameter. To avoid it, we have to add ourselves a numbered parameter, as I did [https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Ach_Gott,_wem_soll_ichs_klagen_(Wolfgang_Grefinger)&diff=1340205&oldid=1340040 here] by adding {{para|1}}. The <code>&lt;nowiki /></code> part corrects another known MediaWiki bug related to the display of bulleted lists inside templates. Hi Carlos. Thanks for your speedy reply. The only difference is in the notes at the end of the last page, where I have altered the last sentence before the footnote from "This edition has altered..." to "The underlay of the Baritone..."

Hi, yesterday I added [[Nicolaus Adam Strungk]] to the composer List (and submitted his Cantata Ich ruf zu die Herr Jesu Christ).

Hi Carlos,
Hi Carlos,

Previously, the Voicing and MultiVoicing templates categorized a works page only in specific voicing catgories {{citeCat|SA}}, {{citeCat|SAB}}, etc.  With the change in these templates to use {{tl|Vcat}}, they now also categorize works pages in the collective categories {{citeCat|2-part choral music}}, {{citeCat|3-part choral music}}, etc.
Just wanting to confirm that [[Ma bouche rit (Johannes Ockeghem)]] is a withdrawn edition, File:Ma bouche rit.pdf being a somewhat ambiguous filename which seems not to have been replaced. Cheers, [[User:Richard Mix|Richard Mix]] ([[User talk:Richard Mix|talk]]) 21:26, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Unfortunately, this is not in keeping with the ''original intent'' of these latter categories as "container" categories (or super-categories), i.e. categories whose only members are supposed to be categories, and hence contain no Main namespace pages.  This explains why the DPL code in {{citeCat|3-part choral music}} failed, because it was processing and listing not only information from the voicing subcategories but also the large number of pages that appear in that category by virtue of their being put there by {{tl|Vcat}}.  You can see the problem when you look at {{citeCat|10-part choral music}}, where the very same DPL code lists the contents of the various voicing subcagtegories, followed by headers that are the titles of all the pages placed in the category by {{tl|Vcat}}.

I have changed the DPL code for {{citeCat|2-part choral music}} and {{citeCat|3-part choral music}} (resstoring in the latter) by adding the selector "namespace=Category" to the DPL code, thus restoring the original functionality of the original code before {{tl|Vcat}}.

If the original intent of the N-part choral music categories is to be retained as container categories, then I think {{tl|Vcat}} needs to be rewritten so as to refrain from categorizing works pages in the N-part choral music categories.  On the other hand, if you need the categorization of works pages in N-part choral music categories to make {{citeCW|Multi-Category Search}} work, then a different approach is necessary &ndash; such as the addition to the DPL code I made or, perhaps even better(?), placing the voicing categories {{citeCat|SA}}, {{citeCat|STB}}, etc. in different container categories, say, {{citeCat|2-part choral voicings}}, {{citeCat|3-part choral voicings}}, etc.

However, I'm not in favor of this latter solution, because the DPL code that I put in several of the N-part choral music categories was placed there at the request of various people, including at least one other admin, who wanted to be able to see, say, 3-part works listed by particular voicings all on {{citeCat|3-part choral music}}.  Perhaps the whole thing needs some rethinking, with a possible solution incorporating the pages in {{citeCat|Voicing lists}}.
}}
Hi Chuck, the inclusion of all works in one of ''N-part choral music'' categories was intentional; I explained my intent to Vaarky in a forum post back in 2010 when I first proposed this change (please check [http://forums.cpdl.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4940#p13457 this post]), sorry if it wasn't clear to you. I particularly don't see any problem in using these categories for both purposes (as 'super-categories' as well as a listing of all N-voice works), but if you believe that a separation is required, I think that it can be achieved more easily by changing only {{tl|vcat}} (instead of moving all voicing subcategories to new ones). I could create categories named simply 'N-part', so that a SATB work would be categorized under {{CiteCat|SATB}} and {{CiteCat|4-part}} (or maybe {{CiteCat|4 voices}}?). This would require a relatively simple change to Vcat and to the Multi-category Search. Let me know your decision. —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]] ([[User talk:Carlos|talk]]) 11:58, 25 September 2012 (CDT)

Hi Carlos, thanks for advise. I made a correction on the work page.
I have been trying to help [[User:Catuí Côrte-Real Suarez]] with three publications, including [[Harpa de Sião]], [[Cecília]], and [[Magnificat, coletânea de cantos litúrgicos]]. But I have run into some difficulty with a recently-created publication, [[Harpa de Sião: suplemento]] – I don't have access to early editions of this book, apparently very popular in Brasil. :::Hi again, Barry. From what I could see, the [[Harpa de Sião: suplemento|supplement]] could very well be on the same page of the main publication. Note that this was done at [[IMSLP: Harpa de Sião (Lehmann, Padre João Baptista)]]. We could maybe create a new section and move the supplement under it, what do you think? I'm still in doubt if this supplement belongs to the 1st or 3rd edition, so I wrote Catuí asking for clarification. —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]] [[User talk:Carlos|(talk)]] 01:12, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

== Pone luctum ==

You have helped me before so I contact you again for a little task. There is a Swedish composer named Wilhelm Peterson-Berger. He died 3 of dec 1942. He has written a lot of pieces for mixed choir a capella. I have been working on those for quite some time and would like the composer to be in the composers list 3rd or 4th of dec 2012. You find him on Wikepedia, also the english version. I have 43 pieces of him to upload when the time comes.
Christ is risen! I would like to ask about the real Composer of tune "Pone luctum, sume vestem", if he is known? There are two persons with the same last name "Mohr", but with different first names: Joseph Franz and Joseph Hermann. Both of them are born after 1750, when probably the tune was composed and can't be a Composer of this tune. Joseph Franz Mohr was text author of some Hymns, but Joseph Hermann Mohr was known as composer of many Latin Hymns (tunes). In edited of Hermann Mohr "Cantiones Sacrae" in 1878 there is his arranged hymn "Pone luctum, sume vestem" under nr. 71 on the page 170 of downloadable PDF file: https://ia801605.us.archive.org/12/items/cantionessacrae00mohrgoog/cantionessacrae00mohrgoog.pdf That arrangement is different from the present edition of Rev. Abel Di Marco on CPDL page, where as Composer is indicated Joseph Franz Mohr. The same harmonization is on the page of "Cappella Gregoriana" of Rev. Abel Di Marco, but with alternative file: https://cappellagregoriana.files.wordpress.com/2018/04/pone-luctum.pdf , where is indicated a Composer J. B. C. Schmidts and arranger Joseph Hermann Mohr. However that version is different from Joseph Hermann Mohr's arrangement in "Cantiones Sacrae". To whom belong the harmonization, edited by Rev. Abel Di Marco?? Is it his proper harmonization? I think that it is a misattribution of Composer name to Joseph Franz Mohr, as we have indication of harmonizer Joseph Hermann Mohr. The real Composer of tune may be remain unknown!?! Add New Work form – Instruments

Hi Carlos, A few minutes ago I used the Add New Work form to create Sharon (James P. Carrell). Since it is an a cappella work, I entered that in the Instruments blank. But when I got to the page, there was an error message across the top, about a missing ) in a Multireplace.php program. The page was created correctly, except Instruments was blank. I tried inserting A cappella in the Instruments template, but it didn't work, I got the same message. I managed to get around it by typing '''Instruments:'''{{Acap}}, which gave the same result, it appears (the page was added to Category:A cappella). By the way, I looked at Template:Instruments and noticed that it was editable by me; it should be protected, right? (I did not edit it). Anyway, I thought you should know that this happened. Best to you — Barry Johnston (talk) 04:52, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi Richard, what kind of error did you get? I could open the category normally and saw that there is a work already listed in it. —Carlos (talk) 20:00, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
I wasn't too clear: when I created St. Peter's Chains that page looked OK but Category:Sacred music by by season wouldn't load. I've forgotten the exact message but it said something about consulting a manual. Richard Mix (talk) 22:05, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
If you move back Chains of St. Peter or else put back the Cat:Sacred by season on St. Peter's Chains you may be able to see what I mean. I didn't want to leave it as it was with the whole Sacred music by season shut down. Richard Mix (talk) 01:36, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Bug in template PostedOn

Hi Carlos. I think your 'localizing' the month changes to PostedOn have resulted in an error. Today (October 26th), PostedOn lists my score A Hymn for St Cecilia (Charles H. Giffen), but the score was posted on September 26th, not October 26th. Here is the result of {{PostedOn|2018-10-26}} (which will probably only be valid for today (or perhaps until the end of the month?).

I'm hesitant to revert your changes, since I'm busy enough today that I won't have time to test any reversion. Could you check into the problem? Thanks. See you Sunday for the Board meeting!! -- Chucktalk Giffen 15:47, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi Chuck. You're right, the template tests for the day and the month separately, as far as I can remember. That could potentially give the results you cite, in that very specific situation. There's certainly room for improvement! I'll have a look at it as soon as I can, but feel free to make any corrections if you already envision a solution for it. Regards, —Carlos (talk) 17:23, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi again. I've implemented a new system that seems to be working correctly. Thanks for spotting the error! —Carlos (talk) 14:49, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Statistics of downloads of contributed works

Dear Carlos,

I was wondering if it were possible for me to see some statistics (downloads etc) of my contributions? I get the occasional question from a user who took the effort to find my contact, but that doesn't give much information.

Status 'incompleted'

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for catching Category:Requests Available at IMSLP! To answer this question, The Oratorio is available only in excerpts on CPDL, but complete at IMSLP. In decluttering Category:Requested, I've hesitated in some cases where it seems desirable to me to have the complete work available in the future, or where I myself might prefer a different format. Richard Mix (talk) 01:09, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi Richard! I noticed that you've been doing a great work in sorting out the requests, way to go! Regarding the completeness of a request, I'm of the opinion that it's 'complete' whenever a page for that work is created on CPDL. If for any reason the editions available here do not cover the whole of the request and IMSLP has a complete edition, that could be informed at the works page, with a link under the "External links" section. This way we'll be helping anyone visiting the works page, not just someone eventually consulting the request page. Regards, —Carlos (talk) 01:24, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
Fair enough as a traffic directing strategy; how would one have dealt with Request:Agnus Dei from Missa L'homme armé (Guillaume Dufay)? I guess I've used Template:IncompleteEdition before as a sort of request on my own behalf, but no one has ever taken the hint ;-) Richard Mix (talk) 01:49, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
Does IMSLP have the complete work? If so, a link to it could be added at the works page. Additionally, a note can be added at the request page informing this. Anyway, three movements is already better than nothing :) (thanks for the new edition, BTW!) —Carlos (talk) 02:12, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Internet links within Template braces

Hi Carlos! I am working though a lot of work pages, and along the way trying to update '''External websites:''' <text> to {{ExtWeb|<text>}}. I find that I am unable to embed certain urls within the braces; neither can I embed thinks like {{IMSLP2|<IMSPL page>}}. I can't seem to find a character that would cause a problem, but I haven't yet checked all strings of characters. I have discovered that I can put the url within double brackets ([[<url>]]) as a workaround, but that seems like a lot of work, and looks strange. Examples at Ach Gott, wem soll ichs klagen (Wolfgang Grefinger) and Ala guerra, ala guerra (Bartolomeo Tromboncino). Do you have any suggestions?

Or maybe I should write code for Template:{{ExtWeb}} to take care of this situation? Thanks! — Barry Johnston (talk) 17:26, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi Barry! I'm still trying to figure out what's the advantage of using this new template. As I understood it, it just encapsulates the text that is passed as parameter (in this case, one or more links). But why should we abandon a template such as IMSLP2, for instance, in favor of ExtWeb, as was done here? Sorry for asking, maybe you're planning some kind of automation that I'm not aware of, and this is just the first step of the process.
Regarding the technical problem you cite, the solution is simple, although not very elegant: if a parameter contains an equal sign, it causes the MediaWiki to think that everything before the = is a named parameter. To avoid it, we have to add ourselves a numbered parameter, as I did here by adding |1=. The <nowiki /> part corrects another known MediaWiki bug related to the display of bulleted lists inside templates. Regards, —Carlos (talk) 02:40, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

By the way, you could spare a bit of my time uploading an MXL (compressed MusicXML) file in lieu of the .musx one, to allow users using MuseScore, Sibelius or Capella to use your file. Hello guys, sorry for the belated reply. David, I see that you've managed to create a page for Blow, winds of God already, with Claude's gracious help. Way to go! —Carlos (talk) 19:54, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Brazilian sacred publications

Hi Carlos!

I have been trying to help User:Catuí Côrte-Real Suarez with three publications, including Harpa de Sião, Cecília, and Magnificat, coletânea de cantos litúrgicos. But I have run into some difficulty with a recently-created publication, Harpa de Sião: suplemento – I don't have access to early editions of this book, apparently very popular in Brasil. I feel like the two pages for Harpa de Sião should be one page, but I don't know how to combine them: the situation with all the editions is a mystery to me. Do you have suggestions? — Barry Johnston (talk) 16:43, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi Barry! A belated Happy New Year! :) I need to get acquainted with this subject first, will inform you about whatever I find, ok? Regards, —Carlos (talk) 16:35, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks Carlos! And a belated Happy New Year to you. Sounds good, I will wait to see what you find. — Barry Johnston (talk) 18:50, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
Hi again, Barry. From what I could see, the supplement could very well be on the same page of the main publication. Note that this was done at IMSLP: Harpa de Sião (Lehmann, Padre João Baptista). We could maybe create a new section and move the supplement under it, what do you think? I'm still in doubt if this supplement belongs to the 1st or 3rd edition, so I wrote Catuí asking for clarification. —Carlos (talk) 01:12, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
Hi Barry, I talked with Catuí and he explained to me that the Supplement is an independent book; that was the reason why he put it on a separate page. But he wouldn't mind if the pages are eventually merged. —Carlos (talk) 00:12, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

Pone luctum

Hello Mr Solims! Sorry that I can't be of any help to you on this, my knowledge on the subject is quite limited. Kind regards, —Carlos (talk) 01:34, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
