:Thanks - it was late when I changed it too, and I overlooked that you had added an edition the day before (so I wasn't sure if the Hyfrydol reference related to the Christopher R. Baker edition, which didn't seem to be accessible). Best wishes, [[User:Cydonia|Cydonia]] 16:13, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

== Laments category to focus on secular works? ==

Thanks for your efforts to start applying the Laments category tag. There was some initial discussion that we wanted to use the Laments category only for secular works, since the volume of religious laments is so large. However, that discussion took place off the beaten path where most people are unlikely to have seen it, and I did not properly add an indication regarding that to the Laments page--my apologies.
I've now added a note to the [http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Category:Laments Laments] page pointing to the initial discussion, and inviting further discussion on the discussion page for the Laments category. For example, should we have separate categories for secular and for sacred laments? I have left the Laments tags that you applied to the additional pieces pending further discussion. Please let us know your thoughts.

PDF files

Hi Sydonia, I suppose you're Edmund Gooch, right? Thank you for the new edition you've just contributed! Unfortunately I am not being able to open any of your PDF files ([1], [2]), my AcrobatReader says the files are corrupt. maybe it's just a problem of PDF version. Could you please inform which program you use to generate the PDFs? And would you mind if I upload replacement PDF files using an older PDF version so as to make them accessible to more users? Thanks! —Carlos Email.gif 20:37, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Carlos, The files were generated using Adobe Acrobat. The info box for the files when I open them in Acrobat Reader (version 9.0.0) shows the file creator as Acrobat Distiller 9.0.0 (Windows) and the PDF version as 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x). If you can generate and post more easily-accessible PDFs from the Sibelius files, by all means do. Thanks, Cydonia 21:05, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Just to say I can open both those files without problem. --Bobnotts talk 22:25, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Rob, are you sure you didn't open the versions already uploaded by me? If you have Acrobat 6 or above you'd be able to open both versions anyway, it's just that I (and many people I know) still use Acrobat 5 (or even 4!).
Hi Edmund, I've already uploaded new PDFs using version 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x), please check if they are acceptable for you: File:Clark-Since.pdf - File:Trem-O all.pdf (if not, just inform me and I'll revert to your versions)
Acrobat Distiller should (?) have an option to choose the PDF version, please check it next time you generate a PDF. Thanks! —Carlos Email.gif 22:40, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes thanks, the new versions of the PDFs look alright to me. I'll save in an earlier PDF format in future. Regards, Cydonia 22:57, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Meter categories

Hyfrydol goof

Laments category to focus on secular works?

Thanks for your efforts to start applying the Laments category tag. There was some initial discussion that we wanted to use the Laments category only for secular works, since the volume of religious laments is so large. However, that discussion took place off the beaten path where most people are unlikely to have seen it, and I did not properly add an indication regarding that to the Laments page--my apologies.

I've now added a note to the Laments page pointing to the initial discussion, and inviting further discussion on the discussion page for the Laments category. For example, should we have separate categories for secular and for sacred laments? I have left the Laments tags that you applied to the additional pieces pending further discussion.
