Biography

John Rogers Thomas was born in Newport, South Wales. He came to the U.S. as a baritone with the Sequin English Opera Company and settled in New York. Establishing himself in America, he sang and toured with Bryant's Minstrels and enjoyed a strong reputation as a teacher and composer in Brooklyn and in New York City. He occasionally used the pseudonyms Charles Osborne, Arthur Percy and Harry Diamond. He died in New York City.
