General Information

Title: Ce que pour
Composer: Villate

Number of voices: 3vv   Voicing: STT

Genre: SecularPartsong

Language: French
Instruments: a cappella
Published:

Description: A rondeau(?) transcribed from the Trent manuscript tr93 whose attribution (Gary Richard Spilsted) is uncertain. The notes’ values are as in the manuscript. The time signature is missing in all the voices, the “tempus perfectum” has been assumed from the context: the perfect notes have been dotted and a tie has been used for a note’s value that cannot be exactly represented. Only the text incipit to the Superius. The notes' values within the "ligaturæ" are semibreves. The “musica ficta” suggestions are in the MIDI and MusicXML files.
