Latin text
Domine Deus Israel, miserere mei
et dele omnia peccata mea,
quoniam magna est misericordia tua super coelos,
et miserationes tuae super omnia opera tua.
Miserere mei, Deus meus, quia in te
speravit cor meum, adjutor et protector meus.
Eripe me de manu inimici,
et defende me brachio tuo sancto
a nefandis et protervis insidiis Sathanae,
ut in aeternum videbam bona Domini
in terra viventium, et lumen in lumine tuo.
English translation
Have mercy upon me, O Lord God of Israel,
and wipe away all my sins,
for your mercy is great above all the heavens,
and your kindnesses above all your creations.
Have mercy upon me, O Lord God, for in you
my heart has trusted, my judge and defender.
Deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
and defend me by your holy arm
from the wicked and wanton snares of Satan,
that I may forever see the benefits of the Lord
in the land of the living, and light in your light.
