J. S. Bach's manuscript has lyrics for this chorale, apparently added later by someone else: Du stellst, Herr Jesu, selber dich, the eighth stanza of Wenn einer alle Ding verstünd by David Denicke. The NBA prefers Herr, durch den Glauben wohn in mir, stanza 8 of O Gottes Sohn, Herr Jesu Christ by David Denicke, 1657. Others prefer the first stanza of the same hymn.
