Süße, wohlbekannte Düfte
Streifen ahnungsvoll das Land.
Veilchen träumen schon,
Wollen balde kommen.
Horch, von fern ein leiser Harfenton!
Frühling, ja du bist’s!
Dich hab ich vernommen

Spring now floats its ribb’ns of blue
Once more flutt’ring in the breezes.
And a well-remembered sweetness
spreads its own expectant hue.
Violets dream and grow,
Soon they will be budding.
Listen. Soft harp notes in the distance flow!
Springtime, it is you!
And I’ve heard you coming!
