Latin text
Gaudare et laetare
Exultatio angelorum :
Gaude, Domini Virgo
Prophetarum gaudium
Gaudias Benedicta
Dominus tecum est.
Gaude quae per angelum
gaudium mundi suscepisti :
gaudi, quae genuisti
Factorem et Dominum
Gaudeas, quia digna es
Esse Mater Christi.
Mare Dominum vidit et timuit
Undae obviam veniunt
Ut adorarent eum.
Hoc videns Petrus clamabat dicens:
Miserere mei, Deus.
Italian translation
Rallegrati e gioisci,
esultanza degli angeli;
gioisci, o Vergine del Signore,
giubilo dei Profeti;
gioisci, o Benedetta,
il Signore è con te;
gioisci, tu che hai generato,
il Creatore e Signore;
gioisci, tu che degna sei
di essere detta Madre di Cristo.
Il mare vede e teme il Signore,
le onde Gli vengono incontro
per poterLo adorare.
Vedendo questo, Pietro chiamava
dicendo: Dio, pietà di me!
