Io son Amore,
pieno d'ardore,
con strali e l'arco,
di lacci carco,
ch'ogni anima vivente,
in foco ardente,
martir li do
et invisibil vo.

Mille tormenti
e tradimenti,
astuti e inganni
martir e affanni,
a miseri mortali
do con li strali,
privo di fè
e con poca merce.

Son cieco e gnudo,
a lato e crudo,
picciol Garzone
senza ragione,
che sotto la mia legge
ciascun si regge,
e schiavo sta
in gran calamità.

Miser amanti
ch'ogn'hora in pianti,
fiamm'e sospiri,
lacci e martiri,
sete al fie incatenati,
da me piagati,
soffrite horsu
ne vi dolete piu.
