I am intrigued by the description 'original high pitch': the incipit - and, if my memory serves me well, the incipit in David Wulstan's edition - show the original pitch to have been a fifth lower than this. (Incidentally, I agree that your alternative pitch with three sharps is a good practical one for most choirs.) - Mick Swithinbank
