Ch’io viva e ch’io respire.
Vostre son le mie pene
Le lagrime e I sospiri,
Vostra è la vita ancor ch’acerba e ria,
E vostra al fin pur converrà che sia
Anche la morte mia.
It is for you, alas,
that I must live and breathe.
Yours are my sufferings,
my tears and sighs;
yours is my life, however bitter and wicked,
