Qual presso a lucid'onde
Il bianco e dolce Cigno cantando more,
Tal'errando Damon per nude fronde,
Di canto invece con querelle e gridi,
Erme campagne abbondonati lidi,
Empia d'alto dolore,
e i cosi espresse nè lamenti amari.
Era dunque ne' fati occhi miei cari,
Ch'io lontano da voi gir men' dovea,
Ahi dura sorte e rea,
Mancar in tanto l'alma egli si sente,
E del suo error quando non val si pente.
