Tierno embozado amante,
muestra tu luz, y ocultas tu semblante,
como el imán atrae, conduce y mueve,
oculto ardor, en manifiesta nieve,
todo es contradiciones ese imperio,
pero esa es lo razón y ese el misterio
de aliviar en mi pecho mi cuidado,
viendo hacer sacramentos, a lo amado.
Cuando en el terso mar,
candido su arrebol,
vaya a esconderse el sol,
mas resplandece.
Que es para su arrebol,
modo de acrecentar,
luz que a resucitar,
desaparece.
Dígalo, el que se esconde en una oblea,
donde patente está por que desea,
que sus efectos nobles prevenidos,
los admita la fe sin los sentidos,
O, o que feliz de amor, alto argumento,
querer que triunfe, de su entendimiento,
quien en la sujeción alta victoria
asegura los triunfos de su gloria.
Sera feliz cadena,
la que sin susto y pena,
prisión es amorosa,
de dulce libertad.
Pues cuando mas padece,
en el afecto crece
un ansia fervorosa,
de ver a su deidad.
