Tristis est anima mea usque ad mortem:
sustinete hic et vigilate mecum.
Nunc videbitis turbam quæ circumdabit me.
Vos fugam capietis, et ego vadam immolari pro vobis.

Traurig ist meine Seele bis an den Tod.
Harrt hier aus und wacht mit mir.
Nun werdet ihr die Menge sehen, die mich umgeben wird.
Ihr werdet die Flucht ergreifen, und ich werde gehen,
um für euch geopfert zu werden.

English translation

My soul is sorrowful, even unto death:
stay here and watch with me.
Now you will see the throng which surrounds me.
You will take flight, and I will go
to be offered for you.
