Description: This glee started life as "Which is the properest day to drink", scored for male company, i.e. two tenors and a bass. A fourth part was added in the mid-nineteenth century, making the glee "equally suitable for ladies and gentleman", but still retaining the more robust words. It is not known when the bowdlerization was effected.
