English text
Breathe so softly, ye breezes,
Night winds, cease your sighing,
That no sound molest her,
While in slumber lying.
O moonbeams veil your brightness,
O stars bring stillness around her,
In visions bright,
Through the night,
While my lady sleeps.
Fill all her dreaming, with visions bright.
Gaze so gently upon her,
Rays of rosy morning,
Flowers breathe perfume round her,
While the day is dawning,
O tell her, through the watches
My lonely guard I am keeping,
Till night is past,
Morn at last,
Wake her to love and me.
Fill all her waking, with thoughts of me.
