Publication date and place: 1596 in Venice by Ricciardo Amadino.
Description: Banchieri's second publication, this volume contains eleven instrumental canzoni for four voices followed by three "concerti" for eight voices to be sung and played. One of the canzoni is by Banchieri's teacher, Gioseffo Guami. This book was reprinted in 1603, adding nine instrumental works and removing the Magnificat. In the second edition, the works are all labeled as fantasie and the twenty-first fantasia, 'La Bataglia', has been reduced to four parts.
