Latin text
Ave, caput vulnerátum
Atque spinis coronátum,
Me peccátis onerátum
Duc ad finem peroptátum.
Ave, dextra manus Christi,
Perforáta clavo tristi,
Nos ad dextram jube sisti
Quos per déxteram redemísti.
Ave, palma Jesu læva
Sic confíxa manu sæva,
Nos ab omni malo leva,
Quod prodúxit mater Eva.
Ave, latus lanceátum
Unde fluxit flumen gratum,
Præbe nobis conducátum
Ad ætérnæ vitæ statum.
Ave, vulnus dextri pedis,
Tui memor sis herédis,
Dux parcéndo semper reddis,
Esto nobis spes mercédis.
Ave, plaga lævæ plantæ,
Qua virtútum crescunt plantæ,
Nos ab hoste supplantánte,
Nunc defénde post, et ante. Amen.

English translation
Hail, O wounded head,
And crowned with thorns,
Me, burdened with sins,
Lead to the longed-for end.
Hail, right hand of Christ,
Pierced with a bitter nail,
Command us to stand at the right hand—
Us whom you redeemed by your right hand.
Hail, left palm of Jesus,
Thus fastened by a cruel hand,
Lift us from every evil
That the mother Eve brought forth.
Hail, side pierced by a lance,
From which flowed a gracious stream;
Grant it to be our guide
To the state of eternal life.
Hail, wound of the right foot,
Be mindful of your heir;
You always restore by sparing,
Be our hope of reward.
Hail, wound of the left sole,
By which the plants of virtues grow;
Now defend us from the deceiving enemy,
Both behind and before. Amen.
