Description: A setting for Mezzo-soprano soloist and accompanying choir, of verses from a translation of Martin Luther's hymn ‘Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her’ by the brothers James, John & Robert Wedderburn, published by them in 1567, in 'Ane Compendious Buik of Godly and Spiritualt Sangis.' Although the words are in 16th century lowland Scottish (aka Lallands), there is no need to sing the solo in a Scottish accent: modern southern English pronunciation is fine.
