Blow breezes o’er the flowery lea,
    The whispers of my heart;
There wild thyme to the honey bee
    Its sweet soul doth impart.
O wind of love! catch on thy wing
    The light that floods the sky;
When day is setting to her bring
    My love’s soft lullaby.

Soft gales waft over her,
    Spirits of day!
With your wings cover her,
    Guide her alway;
Watch o’er her weariness,
    Spirits of light!
Over her couch of peace,
    Sing ye good night!
